Abstract
The simplified Bell-Kochen-Specker hidden-variable conditions (BKS) require an assignment of 0 or 1 to every vector on a state space H such that the assignment respects orthogonality. We show that the pair of conditions {BKS,dimH⩾3} are not merely inconsistent, but in fact imply dimH=1.
