Abstract
Fully nonlinear planar ion-acoustic solitary waves (IASWs) moving obliquely to an external magnetic field are studied in a collisionless magnetoplasma with degenerate electrons. The features of the nonlinear IASWs are investigated through the derivation of an energy balance-like equation involving the Sagdeev-type potential as well as the nonlinear dispersion relation.
