Abstract

Gallium (Ga) particles dispersed in polymethyl methacrylate were prepared by ultrasonic vibration and sedimentation method, and the melting behavior of Ga particles was studied by internal friction method via dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA). Four internal friction peaks, related to phase transitions from solid α-, β-, γ- and δ-Ga phases to liquid are observed, and the mechanism of internal friction peaks was discussed.
