Abstract
In this Letter, an active backstepping design is proposed to achieve projective synchronization between two different chaotic systems. The proposed method, which is based on Lyapunov stability theorem, combines active control and backstepping methods. It extends the control capability to achieving a full range synchronization of all state variables in a proportional way. The technique has been successfully applied to the Rössler hyperchaotic system and Chua's circuit. Numerical simulations verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the method.
