Abstract
A matrix-valued nonlinear Schrödinger (MNLS) equation which describes the dynamics of spinor Bose–Einstein condensates is investigated. We develop and apply the method of nonlinearization of spectral problem to the MNLS equation and obtain an integrable decomposition of the MNLS equation.
