Abstract
Electrical transport, magnetization and 151Eu Mössbauer spectroscopic studies were carried in the La0.5Eu0.17Ca0.33MnO3 CMR system. Metal-insulator like transition around 130 K is found through electrical resistance measurements. DC magnetization measurements show a broad ferromagnetic transition around metal-insulator transition temperature. Temperature dependent 151Eu Mössbauer measurement indicate that Eu replaces La3+ ion with Eu3+ charge state and small transferred magnetic moment gets induced at Eu site due to the ordered Mn-ions in the lattice. The anomalous variation in f-factor with temperature around phase transition temperature suggests structural modifications due to dynamic JT distortions.
