Abstract
Calcium (Ca)-substituted polycrystalline Yb2-xCaxFe3Si5 was prepared using a multi-anvil high-pressure and high-temperature synthesis method. Magnetization and electrical conductivity measurements revealed the suppression of antiferromagnetic behaviour by doping Ca to the ytterbium (Yb) site. Increasing the doping amount of Ca to Yb2-xCaxFe3Si5 gradually changed the metallic behaviour to a semiconductor-like behaviour.
