Abstract
shape memory alloy powders were prepared by inert gas atomization and the powders were consolidated by spark plasma sintering (SPS) to fabricated dense bulk samples. Martensitic transformation temperatures and microstructures of the asatomized powders and the consolidated disks were investigated. DSC and XRD analysis showed that the B2-B19’ martensitic transformation occurred in the powders and the disks. The martensitic transformation start temperature (Ms) of the powders was . However, the Ms of the SPS disk was . It is considered that this increase in transformation temperature is ascribed to the microstructural change during SPS processing.
