Abstract
Superconducting electric power transmission is a useful power application of high Tc superconductors. In addition to the conventional Bi-system tape material, YBCO tape material reaches to the level of a practical use. The YBCO tape material has high critical current density and strong pinning force. In the paper, a field-cooled YBCO tape is suspended under a permanent magnet to confirm the strong pinning force. The experimental results are numerically evaluated with the flux pinning model by using Maxwell stress. The total pinning force is roughly discussed from experimental suspension limits.
