Abstract
► Attenuation correction factors were experimentally determined for 235U gamma rays. ► Large cylindrical samples (500 ml) were used. ► Sample efficiencies were obtained by point source efficiencies at all distances. ► Hybrid Monte Carlo method was used for calculation of attenuation correction factors. ► The method is found to be valid over large sample-to-detector distances.
