Abstract
A compact and convenient reader was developed for the measurement of the radiophotoluminescence (RPL) for silver activated phosphate glass dosimeters. An ultraviolet (UV) light emitting diode (LED) with short-pass optical filters and a photomultiplier with two long-pass optical filters were used for the production and the measurement of RPL photons, respectively. Also some new electronic techniques with a field programmable gate array (FPGA) were introduced for the fast and effective data processing. This system with a commercially available glass dosimeter easily measured the absorbed dose from 20μGy to 2Gy for γγ-rays.
