Abstract
The co-relation between the 110âC TL peak and OSL signal of quartz has been established to such a level that the former has been utilized, extensively, as a reference for OSL applications. Based on these studies it is now widely believed that the two processes share the same luminescence centers. In continuation to these studies, the pre-dose phenomenon, a special feature of the 110âC TL peak, characterization of the fast component of the CW-OSL signal has been attempted in this paper. The qualitative comparative analysis involving various parameters, relevant for the characterization of the pre-dose effect, of the 110âC TL and OSL signals suggests that the fast component of the CW-OSL signal encountered in this study, also, possesses the signatures of the pre-dose effect.
