Abstract

This work describes the electrochemical behavior of Sn-Me2Cl2-Methyl 2-[2-(salicylideneamino)ethylamino]cyclopent-1-ene-1-dithio carboxylate (H2cdsalen) film immobilized on the surface of multiwall carbon nanotube glassy carbon electrode and its electrocatalytic activity toward the reduction of hydrogen peroxide. The surface structure and composition of the sensor were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Electrocatalytic reduction of hydrogen peroxide on the surface of modified electrode was investigated with cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry methods and the results showed that the SnMe2Cl2(H2cdsalen) film displays excellent electrochemical catalytic activities toward hydrogen peroxide reduction. The modified electrode indicated reproducible behavior and high level of stability during the electrochemical experiments. Also it has short response time, low detection limit, high sensitivity, and low operation potential, it can be used as an amperometric sensor for monitoring of H2O2. The proposed modified electrode was successfully used for determination of hydrogen peroxide in real sample such human serum.
