Abstract
												The aim of this lecture is to (1) review the basic concepts and principles of external beam dosimetry for radiation therapy; (2) provide a glimpse of the current state of art in external beam dosimetry practice; and (3) discuss the external beam dosimetry requirements relevant to the application and development of solid-state dosimetry.
