Abstract
Aqueous solutions of gamma-irradiated solid table sugar were investigated for dosimetric purpose using the electrical conductivity method. It was found that the solution containing 20% (w/w) of sugar was the most sensitive to radiation. The variation of electrical conductivity of the all the solutions was found to increase linearly with absorbed dose in the range 1–300 kGy. Signal reproducibility, radiation dose response, signal stability and some parameters which can influence response have also been studied. This work pointed out that sugar and conductivity meter can be used as a new and easy high-dose dosimetric system.
