Abstract
The mechanism of nonlinear dose dependence in the thermally stimulated luminescence (TL) of anion-defective single crystals of α-Al2O3α-Al2O3 was studied. Our experiments revealed a new feature: the heating rate of crystals during TL measurements influences the nonlinearity of the dose characteristic. It was found that, along with other features of TL in the material, this phenomenon is described well by a unified mechanism of interactive interference between dosimetric and deep traps. Recommendations were formulated on how to reduce the interval of superlinearity of the dose characteristic in the investigated crystals.
