Abstract
Growth by liquid phase epitaxy and luminescence properties of the phosphors based on single crystalline films (SCF) of the R3Al5O12R3Al5O12 (R=LuR=Lu, Yb, Tb, Eu–Y) garnets are studied. The possible mechanisms of SCF crystallization of the mentioned garnets on Y3Al5O12Y3Al5O12 (YAG) substrates at the significant mismatch (-0.093A˚<Δa<+0.10A˚) of lattice parameters of substrate and SCF are considered. Formation of the transition layers between the SCF and YAG substrate for reducing mismatch of their lattice parameters are demonstrated.
