Abstract
An extended Jacobi elliptic function expansion method is proposed to construct abundant Jacobi elliptic function solutions to the KdV equation. When the modulus mâ1 or mâ0, corresponding solitary wave solutions and trigonometric function solutions are also obtained. The new method can be used to solve other nonlinear evolution equations.
