Abstract
In this paper, we make use of the extended mapping method and auxiliary equation method for finding new periodic wave solutions of nonlinear evolution equations in mathematical physics, and we obtain some new periodic wave solutions for the generalized Klein–Gordon equation and Benjamin equation which cannot be found by previous work. This method also can be used to find new periodic wave solutions of other nonlinear evolution equations.
