Abstract
⺠Statistics of energy of component waves in a wave turbulence is studied numerically. ⺠Statistics over nearby modes is shown to be equivalent to that over independent ensembles. ⺠PDF of energy approaches the chi-squared distribution as the fluctuation grows. ⺠PDF of time derivative of energy approaches the Laplace distribution. ⺠Time scale of growth of energy fluctuation is faster than that of spectral evolution.
