Abstract
⺠We study Klein-Gordon chains with interactions longer than the nearest-neighbor ones. ⺠These systems support phase-shift breathers unlike the classical KG chains. ⺠These motions arise by bifurcations from the standard configurations. ⺠The existence of phase-shift breathers may lead to symmetry breaking instabilities.
