Abstract
⺠A new family of Poisson structures is globally defined and analyzed. ⺠Existence of such Poisson structures is constructively proven for arbitrary values of dimension and rank. ⺠Global properties not usually present in other families of Poisson structures are characterized. ⺠The fundamental role of Casimir invariants for such a family and its properties is investigated.
