Abstract
⺠We get the generalized transformation form of the phase velocity among inertial frames. ⺠We show that the phase velocity is not a frame-independent quantity. ⺠We discuss the phase velocity of a Gaussian laser beam in the moving instantaneous inertial frame of the particles.
