Abstract
⺠We optimize a Variational Boussinesq Model to model and simulate signalling problems with a broad spectrum. ⺠A superposition of one or a few Airy hyperbolic vertical potential profiles is used to improve the dispersive properties. ⺠Optimal dispersion of the model is obtained using a new optimization principle that minimizes the kinetic energy. ⺠Numerical tests show good results for laboratory test cases of focusing wave groups.
