Abstract
The CSTER and the PFER model of flow-cell electrolyzers are applied to analyze cell performance as a function of the transport intensity parameter (TIP) under cell voltage control and sub-limiting current densities. The electrowinning of copper provides quantitative illustration by means of a single divided concentric cylindrical cell and a five-element cascade. Under appropriate conditions the two models predict essentially equivalent behaviour.
