Abstract

The solubilities of citric, malic and malonic acids in ethanol, 1,4-dioxane, water, acetonitrile, 2-propanol, and tetrahydrofuran (THF) were measured over the temperature range of 303.2–333.2 K. The concentrations of acids in different solvents were analyzed by gravimetric method. The measured solubility data were also compared with the available literature data. The experimental solubility data were correlated with the modified Apelblat equation. The calculated solubilities show good agreement with the experimental solubility data.
