Abstract
Experimental vapour–liquid equilibrium data at isobaric conditions (40.00, 70.00 and 101.33 kPa) has been obtained for mixtures containing one of the following ethers tetrahydrofuran, tetrahydropyran, 1,3-dioxolane and 1,4-dioxane with 1-chloropropane. A dynamic recirculating still was employed for these measurements, the experimental data were tested for thermodynamic consistency and the calculated activity coefficients have been correlated using Wilson equations. Finally, the statistical associating fluid theory for potentials of variable range (SAFT-VR) is used to model the mixtures; a good agreement between experimental results and the SAFT calculations is found.
