Abstract

The solubilities of 3-pentadecylphenyl acrylate in methanol–ethanol mixture solvents of different compositions were measured at temperatures ranging from 273.15 K to 297.15 K at atmospheric pressure using a laser detecting system. The solubility data were correlated by the modified Apelblat equation and Buchowski–Ksiazczak λh equation. Both the Apelblat equation and the Buchowski–Ksiazczak λh equation can fit the solubility data well. The dissolution enthalpy and entropy of 3-pentadecylphenyl acrylate were predicted with the solubility data using modified Apelblat equation.
