Abstract

The experimental isothermal P–x–y data between 263.15 and 343.15 K at 10 K intervals of liquid binary mixtures 2,2′-oxybis[propane] (diisopropylether or DIPE) + toluene, +m-xylene and of the three pure components are reported. Data reduction by Barker's method provides correlation for excess molar Gibbs energy (GE).Enthalpies of mixing (HE) have been measured for liquid binary mixtures of 2,2′oxybis[propane] (diisopropylether or DIPE) + toluene, +m-xylene at 303.15 K and constant pressure using a C80 calorimeter. A Redlich–Kister type equation [O. Redlichand, A.T. Kister, Ind. Eng. Chem. 40 (1948) 345] was used to correlate experimental values of GE and HE.DISQUAC model [H.V. Kehiaian, Fluid Phase Equilib. 13 (1983) 243; H.V. Kehiaian, Pure Appl. Chem. 57 (1985) 15] has been applied to the binary systems.
