Abstract
Pulmonary embolism (PE) is an important cause of morbidity and mortality in pulmonary vascular disease. Development of a simple, efficient, reproducible and standardized PE model is crucial for understanding the molecular mechanisms of PE and evaluating the efficiency of different thrombolytic therapeutic regimens. In this review, we provide an overview of current mouse models available for the study of PE.
