Abstract

Occupational asthma (OA) is one of the most frequent work-related respiratory diseases in industrialized countries. Development and characterization of animal models of occupational asthma have increased our understanding of the physiopathology of the disease. More recently, in vitro and in silico models have been developed to gain new insight into the molecular mechanisms of occupational asthma, as well as to achieve prediction of the respiratory sensitizing potential of new chemicals.
