Abstract
Autoimmune diseases are a major health problem. In the past years we have seen a considerably increase in therapeutic tools available for this devastating group of diseases. Treatment efficacy has improved, but still is not curative. In this article, we review current strategies in autoimmune disease treatment and highlight the opportunity that systems biology represents for the development of better and safer treatments.
