Production of zinc and lead concentrates from lean oxidized zinc ores by alkaline leaching followed by two-step precipitation using sulfides

▶ A process for production of zinc and lead concentrates is developed. ▶ Zinc and lead is extracted by alkaline leaching and sulfide precipitation. ▶ A scale-up experiment is carried out and the zinc and lead extraction reach 80%. ▶ The process applied to oxidized zinc ores may be of industrial interest.
