Abstract
⺠Polarisation of HaCaT cells is accompanied by a plasma membrane viscosity gradient. ⺠The viscosity gradient can be explained by different membrane cholesterol contents. ⺠Inhibition of ABCA1 but not ABCG1 reduces the plasma membrane viscosity gradient.
