Abstract
Extraction of palladium(II) from nitric acid medium by 0.05 M benzoylmethylene-triphenyl-phosphorane (BMTPP) in chloroform has been studied. Kinetics of extraction as well as influence of the concentrations of nitric acid, palladium ion, BMTPP and nitrate ion on the distribution ratio of palladium have been investigated. Quantitative back extraction of palladium from BMTPP phase has been achieved using thiourea.
