Abstract
⺠We highlight contributions of different factors to gene expression variability. ⺠Life stage, fasting, sex, diet, and circadian rhythm are sources of variability. ⺠These factors also contribute to human interindividual variability in drug response. ⺠Genes linked to these factors could be used to predict responses to drugs and chemicals.
