Abstract

•Measurement of binary diffusion coefficients of PA.•Application of Wilke–Chang estimation method for diffusion coefficients.•Measurement of the VLE of phosphoric acid/water at 100 kPa, 5 and 2 kPa.•Measurement of vapour pressure curves of PA for 30, 50, 75, 85 wt%.•Regression of the parameters for the DIPPR equation.

In this work, transport and thermodynamic properties of phosphoric acid/water mixtures were determined experimentally over a wide range of concentrations. Liquid binary diffusion coefficients were measured using the Taylor dispersion technique at various temperatures and concentrations. The second part of this work concerns itself with the (vapour + liquid) phase equilibrium of phosphoric acid and water up to concentrations of 105 wt% at different pressures.
