•Acoustical properties of Europium were evaluated at two temperatures and atmospheric pressure.•Similarly, acoustical properties for Eu(III)–Lysozyme (HEW) were evaluated.•N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) was used as pure solvent•Some thermodynamic parameters were evaluated for both Eu(III) and Eu(III)–Lysozyme systems.
A systematic thermo-physical characterization of the Europium and Europium–Hen Egg’s White (HEW) Lysozyme in the ternary system at T = (313.15.15, 323.15.15) K and atmospheric pressure was elucidated. Thus, density (ρ), viscosity (η) and ultrasonic sound velocity (U) and thereby various acoustical and thermodynamic parameters have been determined. Moreover, a comparison between experimental results for the pure system and solutions of Europium and Europium–Lysozyme (HEW) studies has been carried out to analyze carefully how the structural modifications affect the values of Gibbs free energy of activation (ΔG), enthalpy of activation (ΔH) and entropy of activation (ΔS) in DMF.
Graphical abstractThe values of ΔG for Eu(III) and Eu(III) + Ly were negative for ternary system, which suggest the interaction between solutes were more pronounced in comparison to solute-solvent interaction.Figure optionsDownload full-size imageDownload as PowerPoint slide
