Abstract
Viscosities of tungsten, rhenium, osmium, tantalum, and molybdenum have been measured by the oscillation drop method with an improved procedure. The measured data exhibit less-scatter than our previous measurements. Viscosity at the melting temperature of the investigated metals showed a good agreement with literature values and some predicted values.
•Viscosity of molten metals whose melting temperatures are over 3000° were measured with a levitation method.•Viscosity data obtained with the improved measurement procedure were less scattered than our previous measurement.•Viscosity data shows a good agreement with calculated values from Andrade’s formula.
