Abstract
⺠Elf5 expression in TE does not require a region showing differential methylation. ⺠Elf5 expression in the trophectoderm is driven by two redundant enhancers. ⺠The TE enhancers are not conserved in mammals. ⺠In cattle Elf5 is not expressed in the TE but rather in the embryonic disc.
