Abstract
Viscosity and density of MgCl2, NH4Cl, CuCl2, and AlCl3 in methanol and water solvents have been measured at the temperatures (303.15, 308.15 and 313.15) K and atmospheric pressure. Apparent specific volume, B -coefficient of Jones–Dole equation, ΔHη#, ΔGη#, and TΔSη# were calculated from the experimentally determined values of viscosity coefficient and density. From the results, structure intensifying and destroying properties of MgCl2 and NH4Cl, respectively, were observed. Results also show that both CuCl2 and AlCl3 act as structure maker in (methanol + water) solvent mixture.
