Abstract
A disconnected Al or Zn strip was found to possess corrosion-inhibition effect on copper in a chloride solution. Original assumption of a pseudo-cathodic protection mechanism was later experimentally proved to be unfounded. A chemical reason was proposed to explain the phenomena.
