Abstract
â¶ Increase in cortical and hippocampal extracellular GABA is a long-term consequence of perinatal hypoxia. â¶ Pyruvate can lower and stabilize extracellular GABA. â¶ Pyruvate significantly stimulates GATs-mediated GABA uptake. â¶ Pyruvate enhances affinity of GATs to GABA.
