Abstract
Anodic fluorination of open-chain thiocarbonates like O-methyl S-aralkyl thiocarbonates was successfully carried out to provide the corresponding α-fluorinated products in good to moderate yields. It was clarified that the initial electron transfer took place at the sulfur atom instead of the benzene ring predominantly.
