Abstract
Well-defined spinel LiMn2O4 powders were synthesized by spray-drying method and traditional solid-state reaction, respectively. The as-prepared powders were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Both of them showed exact spinel crystalline structure, but they exhibited different morphology. LiMn2O4 prepared by spray-drying method showed significantly better electrochemical characteristics. Its initial discharge capacity was 123 mA h g−1 (1/10 C) with better reaction kinetics, as well as good high-rate capability.
