Abstract
Adsorbed benzene/toluene on Ag-MnOx/γ-Al2O3 and Ag-MnOx-CoOx/γ-Al2O3 catalysts can be oxidised by non-thermal plasma with gas circulation. The results showed that the gas circulation system effectively avoided the emissions of VOCs caused by plasma desorption. After the gas was circulated for 90 min, compared to γ-Al2O3, the introduction of Ag-MnOx/γ-Al2O3 improved the COx yield by 33%, with CO2 selectivity close to 100%, and reduced the amount of O3 by 51%, while Ag-MnOx-CoOx/γ-Al2O3 inhibited N2O formation by 38% in comparison with γ-Al2O3. Furthermore, the elimination mechanisms of N2O, O3, and the byproducts on the surface of catalysts were studied.
