Abstract
In this study, the potential of sugarcane bagasse, to remove Novacron Orange P-2R dye from aqueous solution by adsorption was investigated in batch mode. Different process parameters were optimized for biosorption process. Equilibrium biosorption isotherms, kinetics and thermodynamics were investigated in batch mode. The biosorption data were fitted well to the Langmuir isotherm. The kinetic data obtained at different concentration have been analyzed using pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order and intra-particle diffusion models. The best fitted kinetic model was found to be pseudo-second-order. The FTIR spectrum was recorded to find out the functional groups involved.
