Abstract
Au/La1−xSrxMnO3 (x ≈ 0.4, Au/LSM) nanocomposites were synthesised and investigated for their potential use in an oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) reaction in a fixed bed reactor (FBR) and solid oxide fuel cell reactor (SOFC). A 17.9% C2 selectivity and a 10.8% CH4 conversion have been obtained in a FBR at 1073 K and 6:1 CH4/O2. The electron motive force was 0.86 V at the power density of 12.4 mA cm−2 during cogeneration through OCM in SOFC reactor. A 7% methane conversion and a 5.7% C2 selectivity were obtained when the air flow rate was 30 ml/min at 1123 K.
