Abstract
In this study, CO2 decomposition to effectively reduce CO2 was examined using reagent class ferrite and magnetite. The structural and redox characteristics of iron oxides were studied using XRD and TPR, while the activities of the respective sample were analyzed and compared using a low content of CO2. When CO2 was injected over ferrite and magnetite with oxygen defect sites, the decomposition of CO2 into CO at O2 defect site was measured by mass spectroscopy. In addition, CO2 decomposition on ferrite and magnetite was found to be dependent on the presence of Fe sites and Fe/O atomic ratio.
