Abstract

Simulation results of supercritical fluidized bed by Fluent CFD software are presented. Simulation based on the multifluid Eulerian model incorporating the kinetic theory for solid particles and using the Gidaspow drag function have been performed in supercritical carbon dioxide (sc-CO2) ambient in a range of pressure from 8 to 12 MPa and temperatures from 30 to 50 °C. The fluid velocity has been varied from 1 to 6 times the minimum fluidization velocity (umf). The model has been validated with experimental results by means of residence time distribution studies.
